Causey Mediation
Jay Causey offers mediation services in Longshore & Harborworker and Defense Base Act claims, his practice area for nearly forty years. He is well-known by attorneys representing both claimants and carriers for mediating these cases over the past several years. He has brought a high percentage of cases handled to satisfactory resolution, and while most cases settle at or shortly after mediation, Jay will retain jurisdiction, if agreed by the parties, for as long as it takes to reach settlement.
Are you stuck between a rock and a hard place? Jay also offers emergency services for cases with tight deadlines. Call or e-mail Jay for availability.
Jay conducts the majority of mediations at Causey Wright’s Seattle office, but is willing to travel at low cost to the parties. Jay has mediated cases in Washington, Alaska, Oregon, California and Colorado but is willing to travel to other locales as well. He offers his services individually, not as part of any ADR company, and invites you to visit his biography page for any further information concerning his credentials as a mediator.
Here are a few comments from attorneys that have retained Jay to mediate their cases:
“Jay has always proven an effective mediator. His vast knowledge and understanding of the law relating to the Longshore Act helps him guide the parties to settlements in even the most difficult cases.”
“Mr. Causey has handled the majority of the Longshore mediations I have undertaken for at least the last five years. He is always prepared, always professional, and has the breadth of experience and universal respect in the Longshore/DBA community needed to bring the parties together whenever possible, which with my cases has been nearly always. Even if the case is not resolved on the day of mediation, he is persistent and continues to work toward settlement, with great results.”
“He’s the best around and he always gets it done.”
